Tubal Ligation

Tubal Ligation, commonly known as "having your tubes tied," is a surgical procedure for permanent sterilization in women. The goal of tubal ligation is to prevent pregnancy by blocking or sealing the fallopian tubes, which carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus. When the tubes are blocked, sperm cannot reach the egg, preventing fertilization.

Purpose: Permanent contraception: Tubal ligation is considered a permanent form of birth control. It is meant for individuals who are sure they do not want to have more children.
